Skimmer Post Harvey Report
Thank you for checking in with us. While Rockport sustained a lot of damage, things are rapidly getting back to normal. The marsh is in excellent shape and this year’s record number of whoopers have no idea what happened on August 25th.
The Skimmer still needs some paint on the repaired railings but she is ready to go! There is plenty of whooper chow in the marsh with Carolina wolfberries and blue crabs in abundance which always means great looks at the Whooping Cranes. Dr. Liz Smith and her International Crane Foundation crew counted 59 Whoopers on our trip last Sunday.
Located on the Harbor, Charlotte Plummer’s Restaurant has been open since Day 17 serving the best traditional gulf coast seafood on the Coastal Bend.
The Inn at Fulton Harbor directly across the street has been fully renovated and will be open December 20th complete with benches created out of the magnificent oaks that went down in the storm in every room. Give them a call at 361-790-5888 or visit their website at www.InnatFultonHarbor.com.
Make your reservation now, we look forward to sharing our incredibly resilient part of the world.
